Full Description

- 44.5 H x 43.5 W cm (image); 71 H x 68 W cm (frame) - Signed within print as facsimile signature lower right corner - This work has a bit of an interesting story behind it; the original of this work is in the new Parliament House collection and is also part of the huge tapestry which now hangs in the Great Hall in the Parliament House; Boyd had initially painted this original landscape painting as a master design layout that was then translated into textile, and added to, in order to make the huge tapestry flanking the Great Hall; the original was an oil painted in his Bundanon studio in 1984; the original was famously so large, Boyd had to use a chainsaw to cut a tall, narrow slot into the studio wall to get the painting out of the building; the original is also now held permanently in the official Parliament House Art Collection; the prints of the work were published around 1987-88 and around the time the new Parliament House opened - This work has been very nicely and professionally framed; some usual wear to frame in parts; print is in overall excellent condition
