An extraordinary, cult-status red wine crafted by winemaker Alex Head.The fruit is sourced entirely from the historic, 162-year-old Stonegarden Vineyard near Springton, situated at an altitude of 400 metres in the coldest, driest, and most remote section of the Eden Valley.With only about 900 numbered bottles produced, this rare release showcases the incredible depth, structural precision, and fragrance that can be achieved from some of the oldest living Grenache vines on Earth. Colour: Deep, bright crimson red with clear purple tinges at the rim. Aroma: Strikingly complex and perfumed, offering a lifted bouquet of raspberry pastilles, wild strawberry, and dark cherries, interwoven with complex layers of smoky ironstone, wild sage, gunflint, and rose petals. Palate: Fleshy, medium-to-full bodied, and exceptionally graceful. It displays a vast expanse of rich red fruit, dark chocolate, and subtle herbal flavours. The palate flows with superb viscosity and mineral focus, framed by highly detailed, silken, sand-paper-textured tannins that extend into an incredibly long, chiselled finish.
