A highly limited, Bordeaux-style blend inspired by the prestigious Grand Crus of the Left Bank’s Pauillac district.Produced by J. Lohr Vineyards & Wines in the Paso Robles AVA, California, the 2010 growing season was famously the coolest vintage the region had experienced since 1998.This slower, extended ripening period yielded a more classical, structured, and savoury profile than typical Californian iterations. Aroma: A nuanced bouquet that blends rich red and blue fruit aromas with a hazelnut-like barrel bouquet. As it breathes in the glass, it evolves to reveal deeper notes of savoury ink, pencil shavings, and iodine. Palate: Bright, exceptionally dense, and multi-layered. The palate shows a concentrated core of blackcurrant, dark cherry, and plum, layered with complex undertones of violet, browned butter, and black tea. Finish: Long and tightly channelled. Elegant red fruit characteristics—driven by the Merlot and Malbec elements—linger alongside soft, fully integrated tannins and a refreshing, savoury acidity. Part of the "Curated Fine Wine Collection :: Icons" sale on Grays.
