Full Description

A landmark mature Bordeaux-style blend from the high-altitude High Eden sub-region of the Eden Valley,South Australia. Established by wine pioneer David Wynn, Mountadam's cooler climate provides a distinct, elegant structure to this classic blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc. Colour: Deep brick red with a soft garnet-orange rim reflecting its significant bottle age. Nose: Highly evolved, complex, and savoury. It features classic tertiary aromas of leather, cedar, and tobacco leaf, underpinned by remnants of dried blackcurrants, stewed plums, and a touch of regional leafy capsicum. Palate: Medium-bodied and seamless, exhibiting a classic "Médoc" styling. Mellowed flavours of dried dark orchard fruits and earthy spice are integrated beautifully with fine, powdery, fully integrated tannins and a firm line of natural, refreshing acidity. Finish: Long, soft, and drying with a persistent, savoury finish dominated by old French oak wood smoke and forest floor notes.
