In 1838 Walter Thomson, with wife Jane, arrived in Australia and established a winemaking tradition.Faithful to his approach, this Private Selection was carefully made in the classic Australian style. Thehigh altitude northern range of the cool and picturesque Clare Valley provides finesse and delicatepower to our mature vines.The 2021 vintage experienced a gentle ripening period, resultingin an elegance and purity of fruit characters. The Clare Valleyvineyard has sandy loam combined with some clay overlyingalluvial sedimentary rocks, providing a source of moisture andminerals to the vines as fruit develops.
