- This is an antique rectangle folio, pictorial wrappers (paperback) and illustrated with photographic views including Parliament House, the residences of the Governor General and Prime Minister, Hotel Kurrajong, suburban streets and more - This booklet was published to commemorate the historic opening of the first Federal Parliament House in Canberra and was printed in May 1927; it does feature as the first photo after the preface page a photo of the Duke and Duchess of York (later King George VI and Queen Elizabeth I), alongside the ship they traveled to Australia in and who were in attendance for the opening - This is from the the private collection of Bill Wood AM, former Queensland and ACT Member of Parliament and Minister for the Arts, and his wife Beverley - This booklet does have some slight wear commensurate with age; there are some losses to the spine and some pages have come loose from staples; other that that, all pages are intact and in very good overall condition with the majority of this usual wear to cover (mainly spine); this is a unique and rare find!
