Item Includes: 1x Church Road Grand Reserve Chardonnay 2022 1x Church Road Grand Reserve Chardonnay 2017 Church Road's 2022 Grand Reserve Chardonnay is an exceptional expression from a stellar Hawke's Bay vintage, opening with a brilliant, light gold colour and an intensely aromatic nose brimming with sun-baked ripeness, lime cordial, and golden peach fruit, intricately layered with notes of light toast, toasted cashew nuts, and a subtle wisp of flinty smoke. On the palate, this full-bodied white delivers a powerful yet beautifully restrained mouthfeel, seamlessly balancing a smooth, rich creaminess with a striking line of mineral acidity and a fine splash of salinity on the uplifting finish.Showing the fascinating evolution of this premium label, the Church Road 2017 Grand Reserve Chardonnay steps forward with a deeper golden hue and a highly developed, savoury bouquet where the primary stone fruits have softened into ripe white melon, dried apricot, and lemon curd, now heavily dominated by complex secondary characters of roasted hazelnuts, toasted brioche, and a distinct hint of struck flint. The palate has evolved beautifully into a luxuriously textured, fleshy, and multidimensional experience, maintaining its structural integrity through a lingering, slate-like mineral spine and a gently nutty finish that reflects its graceful maturation.
