Drawing the Form of Nature by Marion Mahoney Griffin (1871-1961) Edited & Introduction by Debora Wood (Published by Mary & Leigh Block Museum of Art & Northwestern University Press, 2005)

Full Description

- This soft cover booklet is a notable art and exhibition monograph dedicated entirely to the graphic and architectural renderings of Marion Mahoney Griffin - Edited by Debora Wood and published by the Mary and Leigh Block Museum of Art and Northwestern University Press, 2005 - It is notable as it is the first comprehensive book dedicated exclusively to Mahoney Griffin's independent graphic style and visual technique; this book is quite rare and highly collectible because it was an accompanying catalogue for a specialised, temporary exhibition hosted by the Mary And Leigh Block Museum of Art and these catalogues are typically printed in small, single-run batches intended for museum visitors and specific research libraries rather than widespread, commercial book store distribution; additionally there has never been a reprint of this work - Mahoney Griffin (1871-1961) was an American trailblazer in a male-dominated profession and alongside her husband Walter Burley Griffin she famously designed the master plan that won the international competition to build Canberra, back in 1912 - Provenance - this selection is from the estate of and private collection of Bill Wood AM and his wife Beverley - Excellent condition
