Item Includes: 1x Mark Ryan Crazy Mary Mourvèdre 2014 1x Mark Ryan Lost Soul Syrah 2015 Both of these highly-regarded bottles hail from the acclaimed Mark Ryan Winery in Washington State, USA.Because they have significant bottle age, they are currently exhibiting complex, savoury tertiary characteristics. Mark Ryan "Crazy Mary" Mourvèdre 2014 Variety: Primarily Mourvèdre blended with small amounts of Grenache and Syrah. Aroma: Initially brooding but highly intriguing. It opens with intense dark cherry, wild bramble, and sweet plum, woven together with savoury elements of cured meat, black pepper, and ground coffee. Palate: Packs a major wallop of rich, dark fruit flavours. Earthy, gamy characteristics of smoke and leather are tightly integrated with the fruit profile. Structure & Finish: Features firm, balanced tannins and subtle heat on the back palette. It finishes exceptionally long with lingering notes of dark cacao and dried herbs. Mark Ryan "Lost Soul" Syrah 2015 Variety: 100% Syrah sourced from the historic Red Willow Vineyard in the Yakima Valley. Aroma: Fully developed and complex. Generous layers of blackberry jam and blueberry pie filling lead into secondary notes of cigar tobacco, sage, black pepper, and charred cedar. Palate: Dry and full-bodied, yet driven by high, fresh acidity that keeps the massive fruit profile energetic. Pronounced dark berry fruits mix beautifully with smoked meat and leather. Structure & Finish: The bold tannins have softened beautifully with age. It carries a broad-shouldered structure into a remarkably persistent, lingering finish highlighted by coffee grounds and savoury maturity. Part of the "No Reserve Fine Wine :: Feat. Schild Estate" sale on Grays.
