Pouring an impenetrable midnight-black with a dark red rim, the bouquet immediately unrolls with intense aromatics of dark plum, blackberry, and liquorice, underscored by lightly toasted vanillin cedar, mocha, and savoury dried herbs. On the palate, this full-bodied Victorian classic is decadently rich and heavily textured, flooding the mouth with lavish black fruits and subtle smoky oak. It maintains a surprising softness for its immense scale, framed by sturdy yet velvet-like tannins and a vibrant burst of black pepper that enlivens a long, robust, and complexly savoury finish.The Sanguine Estate Inception Shiraz 2016 pushes the envelope even further, delivering a beautifully muscular, tightly structured vintage that balances intense fruit purity with magnificent savoury grace.
