Full Description
The wine is considered a classic Bin 389, showing the structure of Cabernet and the richness of Shiraz, with the hallmark Penfolds balance of fruit and oak. Good winter rains and excellent fruit set were followed by summer rains and fine conditions, allowing both Cabernet and Shiraz to reach full ripeness and optimal condition at harvest. Matured for 13 months in new (22%) and older American oak barrels, some of which previously held Penfolds Grange. Vineyard Region: South Australia. Grape Variety: Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz.
