A pioneering, Northern Rhône-inspired South Australian red. Co-fermented with a small percentage of aromatic white grapes, this mature Barossa Valley vintage masterfully balances rich, dark-hearted Shiraz power with a fragrant, lifted complexity. Colour: Deep crimson-purple with a heavily matured brick red hue. Nose: Highly aromatic and secondary, showing stewed dark plums, old leather, and a hint of damp earth, beautifully complexed by hints of dried apricot, white pepper, and vanilla tobacco. Palate: Full-bodied and velvety, delivering a rich core of sweet liquorice, dark cherry finish, and smoky chocolate mint, all held together by fine-grained, soft tannins. Finish: Remarkably long and persistent, leaving a lingering aftertaste of spiced plum, savory leather, and a characteristic dash of black pepper. Part of the "5 Star Provenance Sale - Avid Wine Collector." sale on Grays.
