Up for auction is a vintage Toledo Metal Furniture Company adjustable-height steel work table, manufactured in Toledo, Ohio, circa 1948–1962. The table retains its original Toledo nameplate bearing the UHL Steel Furniture trademark and the "Toledo 7, Ohio" address. This represents a U.S. Post Office zone designation used only between 1943 and 1963, which dates the piece to that era. Construction is all-steel: four bolt-mounted square-tube legs with welded corner brackets, tubular truss cross-stretchers, and a rolled-edge pressed-steel top in the original taupe factory finish. A functional hand-crank with the original turned-wood ball handle operates a worm-drive shaft beneath the top that simultaneously raises and lowers all four telescoping legs. Chrome cup-style leveling glides at the foot of each leg allow fine leveling on uneven floors.
