Description

In early 1955 the US Treasury went from shipping their mint sets from cardboard boxes to paper envelopes. This auction is for one of the last Treasury "SEALED BOXED" mint sets, which are difficult to find. Given most of the 1950s mint sets were opened back in the 50's is what makes this so rare and hard to find. Also note the KEY Upside coin values for 1955. A sealed Treasury Mint set means: • No fingerprints • No haze from decades of mishandling • No coin switching • No cherry picking • No artificial toning • No cleaning The Mint Set contains: 90% silver Kennedy halve dollar 90% silver Washington quarter 90% silver Roosevelt dime Key upside values: 1955 Franklin Half MS65: $150–$300 MS66: $500–$1,000 MS67: $3,000–$10,000+ 1955 Washington Quarter MS66: $150–$300 MS67: $800–$2,000+ 1955 Roosevelt Dime MS67: $100–$250 MS68: $500–$1,500+ 1955 Lincoln Cent MS66 RD: $75–$150 MS67 RD: $300–$800 MS68 RD: $1,500–$3,000+ 1955 Jefferson Nickel MS66: $75–$150 MS67: $300–$600 MS67+ / Full Steps: $1,000–$5,000+ You decide if you want to unseal this set for the opportunity to confirm if it carries a Cameo Franklin valued at $3,000+. Or a Cameo Washington Quarter valued at $800+, a Lincoln valued at over $1,500. Or leave it sealed and retain the value of these hard-to-find sets. This is a SEALED set with no way of knowing what grades are inside this mint set with no guarantees. This set came from the estate of a large US Mint collector and was recently discovered in a safe. THIS WILL SHIP ONLY: A shipping fee of $20.00 will be applied to the final invoice.
