This listing is for one (1) roll of fifty (50) 1939 Lincoln Wheat Pennies struck at the Philadelphia Mint (no mint mark), purchased as part of a large estate auction. Hand assembled by the previous collector and stored undisturbed since at least 2008 — a genuinely unsearched roll sitting untouched for nearly two decades. Being sold exactly as acquired. What you are bidding on: One (1) roll of 50 Lincoln Wheat Pennies — 1939, Philadelphia Mint (no mint mark) Hand assembled by previous estate collector — unsearched since at least 2008 Roll has NOT been opened, searched, or altered by the seller Coins have NOT been independently examined, graded, or verified by the seller These coins are 87 years old — genuine pre-WWII issue About These Coins: The 1939 Lincoln Wheat Penny was struck at the Philadelphia Mint as the U.S. economy began climbing out of the Great Depression, with over 316 million pennies produced that year — one of the highest mintages in the series to that point. Despite the massive mintage, well-preserved original-color examples are surprisingly scarce today, as most 1939 cents saw heavy circulation. The 1939 series also includes several documented doubled-die and repunched mint mark varieties, making any unsearched roll an interesting prospect for variety hunters hoping for a standout piece hiding among common circulated coins. No specific varieties or conditions are guaranteed.
