You are bidding on a Used: FIRE TOWER (226684 DC) Operational, mechanical and cosmetic conditions may exist and are unknown. May have visible wear and tear on all items. Parts may be missing and or inoperable. -1 each: FIRE TOWER IMPORTANT INFORMATION BELOW GFC #10001 BLIPP ID #14665 Address: 5119 Leary Road, Albany, GA 31721 Coordinates: 31°30'15.13"N 84°20'49.62"W This fire tower was acquired by the Georgia Forestry Commission in January 1950. The tower stands approximately 100 feet tall and includes a small storage container located at its base. The lower flight of stairs has been removed for safety reasons and to prevent unauthorized access. As a result, the cab, stairs, and platforms could not be inspected up close. The fire tower appears to be in fair condition based on observation from ground level. Minimal rust is visible, and the frame appears to be structurally sound; however, the wooden stairs and platforms may have areas of wood rot. Additionally, the cab appears to have sustained some damage from either weather or vandalism. The fire tower is located near a highway to the south and a wooded area to the east. The areas directly north and west of the tower are moderately clear, with some light thorny brush and scattered trees. Utility lines run along the opposite side of the highway. Electrical services appear to have been disconnected from the tower; therefore, no electricity is available on site. The successful bidder will be responsible for dismantling and removing the tower and storage container within 30 days of the Bill of Sale being issued. No labor, equipment, or other assistance will be provided by the Georgia Forestry Commission or the State of Georgia. The property is sold as-is, where-is, with no warranties, express or implied.
