1972 CHEVROLET EL CAMINO CUSTOM 350 V8 • Automatic • Rally Wheels • Runs & Drives Mileage: 56,595 (showing) WE CANNOT ATTEST TO THE MILEAGE. MIGHT BE RIGHT. MIGHT BE LEFT. VIN: 1D80H2K601186 Let's get this out of the way first: SHE'S A 50-FOOTER. Like that prom date, your first wife, or that boat you absolutely had to have .... she looks mostly good from the right distance. Get closer and you'll find imperfections. The paint is NOT show quality. There are chips, scratches, blemishes, wear, age and plenty of evidence that this El Camino has actually lived a life. We aren't representing it as restored, flawless or ready for Pebble Beach. But stand back, squint just a little, and she's a damn good-looking old El Camino. This 1972 Chevrolet El Camino Custom has the right look: bright orange/red exterior, black hood stripes, SS-style grille/badging, Rally wheels, black bed and plenty of old-school Chevrolet attitude. VIN DECODE The VIN confirms this is a 1972 Chevrolet Custom El Camino, originally equipped with the L65 350 cubic-inch V8, assembled in Kansas City, Missouri. The VIN does NOT establish this vehicle as a factory SS, and seller is not representing it as a documented factory SS or numbers-matching vehicle. MECHANICAL The El Camino currently has a 350 V8 with an automatic transmission. It fires right up and runs good. The vehicle has been sitting and the original fuel tank needs to be cleaned/serviced. It is presently being operated from a separate fuel cell. The brakes work but are touchy and should be inspected/serviced before regular road use. KNOWN ITEMS / DISCLOSURES • Factory A/C-equipped car; A/C compressor is missing. A/C is not represented as operational. • Passenger-side interior door-opening handle/latch has fallen down inside the door and needs repair. • Original fuel tank needs cleaning/service from sitting. • Currently operating from a separate fuel cell. • Brakes are touchy and need inspection/service. • Paint/body have visible imperfections consistent with our highly scientific "50-footer" rating. • This is a 54-year-old vehicle. Expect wear, imperfections, prior repairs and things that need attention. Look at ALL photos and video. They are part of the description. IMPORTANT — READ BEFORE YOU BID This is an AS-IS, WHERE-IS auction. No warranty is expressed or implied. Seller has described the vehicle to the best of our knowledge. Bidders are responsible for inspection and verification. Your bid is a commitment to purchase. Please obtain your spouse's, girlfriend's, boyfriend's, significant other's, business partner's, accountant's, neighbor's, HOA's... or whoever else apparently gets a vote... permission BEFORE bidding. "My wife is mad," "my husband said no," "it doesn't match the house," "I didn't mean to bid that much," "I thought it looked better in the pictures," and similar post-auction discoveries are **not defects with the El Camino. **If you win it, you bought it.** TITLE / KEY / PICKUP Vehicle will be sold with title and key as applicable/shown in the auction documentation. Buyer is responsible for pickup, loading and transportation. Send us your zip code for a shipping quote BEFORE bidding. Given the fuel-system and brake items described above, plan on trailering/transporting the vehicle until you have personally inspected it and completed any necessary repairs. Pre-bid inspections are encouraged. Bottom line: she's not a show car, not perfect and we're not pretending she is. She's a running, good-looking 1972 El Camino Custom with a 350 V8, a whole lot of personality, and plenty of room for the next owner to make her better. She's a 50-footer..... fortunately, bidding can be done from much farther away.
