Its tall and wide... with about 39-inch mud tires, heavy-duty 8-lug axles front and rear, spring-over-axle suspension, manual locking front hubs and extensive off-road modifications. Power comes from the 4.2L / 258 cubic-inch inline 6-cylinder engine backed by a manual transmission. The engine starts readily and runs very well from the temporary fuel supply currently being used. TWIN-STICK 4WD SETUP The Jeep has three floor-mounted shifters: one manual-transmission shifter and 2 transfer-case shifters. It also has a hand-throttle control for raising engine RPM during low-speed off-road operation. FRAME / UNDERCARRIAGE Underside photos show the frame, axles, suspension and drivetrain. In the areas photographed, the frame appears solid with no obvious major rot visible. The frame rails and suspension mounting areas shown appear respectable for a modified 1985 CJ-7. There is normal age, surface corrosion, coating wear and evidence of previous fabrication/modification. This is based only on visible areas and is not a complete structural inspection. EXTERIOR / INTERIOR The Jeep is white w/ a black hard top and black fender flares. The windshield is cracked. Normal scratches, chips, wear and cosmetic imperfections are present. Interior equip. includes the manual transmission, twin-stick transfer-case controls, hand throttle, original-style Jeep gauge cluster, heater/vent controls, manual windows and black door panels. CONDITION / KNOWN ISSUES The Jeep starts right up and runs well. It is currently being operated from a temp. external fuel supply because the original fuel tank needs to be serviced/replaced before normal use. Known issues include the fuel tank, cracked windshield, loud exhaust/muffler, normal cosmetic wear and numerous aftermarket/custom modifications. Because this Jeep has been extensively modified, Shanks Towing has not attempted to verify every axle ratio, locker, differential component, transfer-case modification or fabrication detail. MILEAGE DISCLOSURE The dash currently shows approx. 30,837 miles. The previous VA title shows 103,252 actual miles.
