The Town of Stantonsburg is offering for public auction one 1994 GMC TopKick garbage truck, diesel. Vehicle has been out of service for more than 5 years and is being sold as surplus property in as-is, where-is condition. Mechanical condition is unknown. Significant visible rust, corrosion, and interior wear. Buyer should assume vehicle is non-operational and not roadworthy. Removal by tow truck or heavy transport likely required. This vehicle has been out of service for more than five (5) years and should be considered non-operational / condition unknown. The truck is being sold as-is, where-is, with no warranties or guarantees expressed or implied. Due to the length of time out of service, the Town makes no representation regarding the current mechanical condition, roadworthiness, engine, transmission, brakes, hydraulics, electrical system, refuse body, tires, or any other components. This unit may be suitable for parts, scrap, restoration, or repair at the buyer’s sole discretion. Based on available inspection and photographs: Vehicle has been parked and out of service for more than five years. Exterior shows significant rust, corrosion, peeling paint, and weathering. Refuse body shows heavy rust and deterioration. Interior shows heavy wear and deterioration, including torn/aged driver seat. Door panel and interior components appear damaged or incomplete. Tires, wheels, brakes, hydraulics, electrical components, and mechanical systems have not been verified. Garbage compactor/body components have not been tested. Vehicle condition is unknown and may require towing or hauling from the site. Buyer should assume the vehicle is not roadworthy. Interested bidders are responsible for personally inspecting the vehicle and determining condition, value, completeness, and removal requirements prior to placing a bid. Failure to inspect does not relieve the successful bidder of responsibility for payment and removal.
