A 1998 International 4700 bucket truck with a Hi-Ranger SC-445 aerial lift and a DUECO utility body, showing roughly 168,914 miles and 13,315 engine hours. Tree service companies, utility contractors, and bucket-truck parts sellers are the likely buyers, and the lift and body are the value. Have the boom lift operation and hydraulics inspected, since the listing says the truck runs fair but does not describe the lift, and confirm the engine hours and body condition.
Estimated flip margin and comp range available with Pro. Summary may occasionally contain inaccuracies; check the full description before bidding.

View all at this location1998 International 4700 CONVENTIONAL CAB 7.6L L6 DIESEL Bucket Truck – Hi-Ranger SC-445 For nearly three decades, this truck has been helping Public Works Employees get high. Strictly in the geographical sense, of course. Up for auction is a 1998 International 4700 bucket truck, VIN 1HTSCAAN0WH559996, equipped with a Hi-Ranger SC-445 aerial lift and DUECO utility body. The truck shows approximately 168,914 miles and 13,315 engine hours. Purchased used by the City of Harvard, this truck has spent the latter years of life performing tree trimming, street light repair, and other work best accomplished without a ladder. The truck runs and drives fair and is equipped with an automatic transmission, 45-foot-class aerial lift, 350-pound-rated bucket, hydraulic outriggers, and multiple utility storage compartments, including slide-out drawers. The aerial lift is operational. The boom raises, lowers, extends, retracts, and rotates. Both upper and lower controls operate, as do the hydraulic outriggers. The truck's aerial equipment was function-tested by City staff, and all functions operated as expected. The good stuff: The truck has been reasonably dependable, and City employees have spent considerable time maintaining its utility body, repairing compartment floors and cabinets, and keeping it painted and presentable. In 2025, the aerial device passed its inspection and dielectric test. Work performed at that time included: Retorquing rotation bearing bolts Replacing safety decals Replacing a 1/2-inch hydraulic hose in the pedestal Lubricating boom chains Replacing an O-ring in the bucket assembly Replacing a cabinet handle During that inspection, replacement of the fiberglass bucket was recommended. The City subsequently had a replacement bucket custom-manufactured in Indiana at a cost of $4,261 and installed it. Not exactly the kind of money you spend on something you've completely given up on. Now, the reality check: This is a 28-year-old municipal truck. It has scratches, wear, corrosion, and the occasional reminder that the Clinton administration was still in office when it rolled off the assembly line. The utility body has received repairs over the years, including cabinet and floor repairs. The truck has been painted and maintained to keep it presentable, but it is not a restoration. From 30 feet away, it looks pretty darn good. Up close, you'll find the evidence of a long working career. The truck runs and drives fair, and prospective buyers should anticipate maintenance and repairs associated with equipment of this age. When funding became available and a suitable replacement presented itself, the City took the opportunity to update its fleet. No catastrophic failure, no dramatic rescue from 45 feet in the air. Just an aging piece of equipment that has served its purpose. Yes, that is snow you see in the pictures from last spring when I took them, but the truck has been stored inside since then. No worries about showing up to a truck on a bunch of flat tires or sinking into a field. Prospective bidders are strongly encouraged to inspect the vehicle and determine its suitability for their intended use. All vehicle and item descriptions are to the best of our knowledge. We highly recommend an inspection because it is impossible to describe all faults. No warranty stated or implied. The successful bidder is responsible for pickup and removal.
