2000 Ford Ranger (NON-RUNNING) REGULAR CAB PICKUP 2-DR ELECTRIC MOTOR This listing is for a 2000 Ford Ranger EV, originally manufactured as an OEM electric vehicle. The vehicle is currently NON-RUNNING and is being sold as-is, where-is, with no warranty or guarantee of operability. This vehicle has been substantially modified from its original OEM configuration. The original lead-acid battery pack was removed and replaced with an aftermarket, custom-built LiFePO battery system. The conversion/rebuild included custom wiring and non-OEM components, including but not necessarily limited to: Custom LiFePO battery pack installation Spoof boards required for the OEM Ranger EV system Orion Gen 1 BMS system Custom wiring integration Thunderstruck EV charger integration Custom OBD/diagnostic system requiring a specialized OBD sensor/interface At this time, the vehicle does not run, and the cause of the failure is unknown. There is no clear understanding of whether the issue is related to the battery system, BMS, charger wiring, spoof boards, OEM EV controller, motor system, OBD/diagnostic system, or another electrical component. This vehicle should not be considered a normal used vehicle and should not be expected to be serviceable by a standard Ford dealership or general automotive repair shop. Diagnosis and repair will likely require a buyer with experience in custom electric vehicle systems, high-voltage battery packs, OEM Ford Ranger EV systems, Orion BMS systems, and custom wiring/charging systems. The vehicle has not received major service since the battery pack was rebuilt. Any buyer should expect to perform all necessary inspections and services before attempting operation, including but not limited to: Full high-voltage electrical inspection Battery pack inspection and testing BMS inspection and configuration review Charger inspection and testing Custom wiring inspection OEM EV drivetrain inspection Transaxle fluid service for the OEM electric Ford motor/transaxle system Tire replacement Brake inspection General safety inspection The vehicle also uses a custom OBD/diagnostic setup that requires a specific custom OBD sensor/interface. That sensor is reportedly no longer manufactured, though it may be available through aftermarket or used parts sellers. The successful bidder should assume that diagnostic access may be limited without the correct specialized equipment. This vehicle is best suited for an experienced EV technician, electric vehicle hobbyist, research/educational program, or buyer seeking parts. It should be considered a project vehicle or parts vehicle only. It will require towing or trailer transport from the pickup location. Important condition statement: The vehicle is NON-RUNNING, has unknown electrical issues, contains custom high-voltage EV modifications, and may require specialized knowledge and equipment to diagnose or repair. No claims are made that the vehicle can be returned to service. Seller makes no guarantee regarding battery condition, electrical system condition, charger operation, drivetrain condition, software/configuration status, or overall roadworthiness.
