2005 Sterling SC8000 18' Box Truck with Lift Gate β Approx. 59,837 Miles 2005 Sterling SC8000 equipped with an 18-foot box, hydraulic lift gate, and a dependable 5.9L Cummins diesel engine. The A/C was recently recharged and blows cold. This truck was previously used by the USPS in the Washington, D.C. area. It was reportedly used only once per week and maintained on a regular basis. Lift gate functions properly. If left sitting for more than a few days without being driven, the battery may require a jump start. One brake light bulb is currently burnt out. Some rust around the tail lights and behind the mud flaps and other areas. Small windshield chip that has been professionally repaired. Passenger door locks and unlocks only from inside the cab. Minor tears in the seats. Battery Condition: If the truck is left sitting for more than a few days without being driven, the batteries may discharge and require a jump start. Using jumper cables connected to a standard passenger vehicle, allow approximately 60 minutes to charge the batteries before attempting to start the truck. This condition is known and should be expected if the truck has been sitting idle. Recommend to leave the batteries on a trickle charger when not being used. Truck Operation Information When the engine is started, an audible buzzer sounds to indicate that the ABS has not yet reached operating pressure. Do not drive the truck until the buzzer stops and the air brake system is fully charged. This truck does not have a "Park" position on the transmission. To park the vehicle, bring it to a complete stop, place the transmission in Neutral, and then apply the parking (air) brake. Starting Procedure: Turn the ignition key to the "On" position, verify the transmission is in Neutral, then press and hold the black starter switch located just above the gear shifter until the engine starts. To shut the engine off, simply turn the ignition key to the "Off" position. Prospective bidders are strongly encouraged to inspect the vehicle prior to placing a bid.
