2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 REGULAR CAB PICKUP 2-DR, 5.3L V8 OHV 16V. Vehicle was towed in for an oil leak. One of the oil cooler lines had blown off at the crimp, and it had lost enough oil that none registered on the dipstick. We got it towed into the shop and we drained the oil and captured some of what came out (about a quart and a half). There was a lot of metal debris in the oil after it drained through a coffee filter. We removed and cut open the oil filter and found more debris. Serious internal damage, lots of bearing material in the debris. We got a quote from GM on a reman engine Total cost, parts and labor, was $16,400. 8 foot bed.
