Overview Hologic Discovery A DXA/DEXA bone densitometer acquired September 2013. This central dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry system is in repairable condition. Equipment originally consisted of a patient scanning table, fan-beam X-ray C-arm/scanner, detector assembly, X-ray generator and control components, workstation/computer, monitor, cabling, calibration phantom, and associated software/accessories. The system was dismantled by the vendor for removal from the hospital without demolition and is not currently installed or verified operational. Key Features Central dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry system for measuring bone mineral density and bone mineral content. Designed for osteoporosis assessment and related body-composition or vertebral-fracture applications when equipped and licensed. Fan-beam X-ray technology with integrated C-arm/scanner and detector assembly. Complete system includes patient scanning table, X-ray generator, control components, workstation, and calibration phantom. Condition & Markings This lot is in repairable condition. Parts may be missing, and repairs may be required. Components may be packaged separately and require qualified reassembly, inspection, calibration, software/license verification, radiation-safety review, quality-control testing, and validation before any return to clinical service. Components may show cosmetic wear consistent with normal medical use including scratches, scuffs, chipped or worn paint/coatings, faded labels, discoloration, dust accumulation, adhesive residue, light oxidation on exposed metal, worn cables or cable jackets, and wear to table surfaces, covers, controls, connectors, workstation components, and exterior panels. Condition and completeness of all scanner, detector, X-ray, table-motion, computer, software, cabling, calibration, and accessory components should be verified. Inspection and Removal Inspection and Removal: Available Monday through Friday, by confirmed appointment only. The site is closed on federal holidays. Authorized Third-Party Removal: The authorized third-party agent must present a Letter of Authorization from the high bidder (see terms and conditions for details), a copy of the purchasers receipt, and a valid photo ID at the time of removal. Additional Information: This facility does not prepare any sales for shipping or assist with loading or removal.
