Decommissioned MetroCard Vending Machine MTA New York City Transit is offering a decommissioned MetroCard Vending Machine for auction. Approximate weight: 1,050 pounds Dimensions: 80″ H × 42″ W × 36″ D The credit card reader and PIN pad have been removed. The machine is not expected to operate simply by plugging it in. Any attempt to restore functionality will require technical knowledge and troubleshooting. Operation is not guaranteed. Inspections are not available, and buyers cannot select a specific machine. SOLD AS IS. PLEASE BID ACCORDINGLY. IMPORTANT PICKUP REQUIREMENTS Pickup is available on ONE DATE ONLY: Wednesday, November 18, 2026, between 8:30 a.m. and 2:00 p.m., in Maspeth, Queens. Winning bidders are responsible for making all transportation and loading arrangements, including: Providing a vehicle appropriately sized and equipped to transport the machine. Bringing a pallet jack rated to handle the machine’s approximate 1,050-pound weight. Bringing sufficient personnel to safely load and secure the machine. Winning bidders must submit a removal plan in advance detailing their proposed vehicle, loading equipment, and personnel. The removal plan is subject to approval by New York City Transit and must be approved before pickup. The full names of everyone attending the pickup must be submitted in advance. Each person must present valid U.S. government-issued identification to security to gain access to the site. Cancellation, failure to complete the purchase, or failure to pick up the machine on November 18 will result in account suspension.
