O button, tiny hero of the shirt, You hold my wardrobe firmly in its place. Yet one small thread can send you into dirt, And leave my dignity without a trace. You roll beneath the dresser, out of sight, While I crawl around and mutter, “Where’d it go?” I find three others there from Tuesday night— Apparently, they’ve formed a button show.
