A Leica vibratome (such as the popular VT1000 S) typically utilizes an optional 2x magnifying lens attachment or a specialized stereo microscope adapter. This optical accessory mounts directly to the instrument frame to give users a clear, distortion-free view of delicate tissue slices during live sectioning.  Features & Options Magnification strength: Standard Leica magnifier attachments provide 2x zoom, which helps monitor tissue alignment and blade contact without needing a full external microscope.  Alternative setups: Some laboratories swap the simple 2x glass for a swing-arm stereo microscope depending on how fine the precision needs to be.  Integration: The official magnifier slots into designated mounting points on compatible Leica vibrating blade microtomes for easy positioning over the bath buffer area.
