The Arctic Sun 5000 is a non-invasive Targeted Temperature Management (TTM) system used to monitor and control patient core temperature. It is primarily utilized in critical care settings to induce mild therapeutic hypothermia in comatose adults after sudden cardiac arrest to improve neurological outcomes. Features and Functionality Modes of Operation: The system features three primary modes: Cooling, Rewarming, and Normothermia (maintaining a healthy range of 36 to 37 degrees celsius. Precision Control: It utilizes an internal algorithm to make micro-adjustments to water temperature 30 times every hour, ensuring precision through all therapy phases. ArcticGel Pads: These single-use adhesive pads are placed on the patient's body (typically upper body and thighs) and use a hydrogel layer to facilitate efficient heat transfer. Safety Monitoring: The system continuously monitors the patient via rectal or esophageal temperature probes and includes "Work to Cool" alerts to detect if a patient is generating excess heat.  The  Arctic Sun 5000 TTM System has been powered on.
