Unit is untested so function is unknown. Extreme caution needs to be used when using this unit. The Snail® System by Savage Range Systems is a patented bullet trap designed to safely decelerate projectiles intact rather than disintegrating them. It uses low-angle ramps to guide bullets into a circular deceleration chamber, where they spin, lose energy, and drop into a collection bin. How it Works Deceleration Chamber: Bullets lose momentum in a circular housing, which prevents ricochet and splash-back. Lead Containment: Designed to meet and exceed OSHA standards by dramatically minimizing airborne lead dust. Automatic Recovery: Features an auger/conveyor system (ABRS) that automatically carries the captured, intact lead to collection drums for easy recycling. Key Configurations Wet Snail System: Uses a biodegradable fluid (or "snail oil") and water mixture in the chamber to suppress dust and lubricate the ramps. Dry Snail System: Utilizes the patented Air Barrier System (ABS)—a "closed loop" positive pressure air wall that traps lead dust inside the chamber without needing ventilation. Big Mouth Snail: An open-throat design that removes vertical dividers, allowing for uninterrupted cross-range tactical training. For additional information an in person inspection is required.
