ITEM DESCRIPTION: This is a Scanning Electron Microscope with a Motorized X_Y Stage for SEM. Following information has been provided by the department: In January of 2021 the instrument stopped working following a routine maintenance procedure, and it has not been operable since. It is speculated that there is a problem with the high-voltage power supply. The electron optics, vacuum system, detectors, and other electronics are believed to be ok. CamScan Series II SEM. No computer associated with unit. Double door to hallway, Single door into room. Loading dock is available. Pallet Jack is available if needed. Located in Derring Hall on the VA Tech Campus, room 5066A. This room is on the ground level with access to the loading dock. We encourage all bidders to schedule an appointment to inspect the item and look over the area, so they have a plan for removal. All aspects of removal is the responsibility of the buyer. We strongly encourage bidders to schedule an appointment to inspect before bidding. All aspects of removal and disassembly are the responsibility of the winning bidder.
