Unit 13603 - 2013 Chevy C3500, 4x2, Reg cab, 6.0L V8, tires LT245/70R19.5 w/Hyrail gear. Unit was taken out of service per Metra Replacement Policy. Vehicle was towed into the turn in location and must be towed or trailered out. Unit broke the serpentine belt, so there is no power steering and some brake loss, check engine light on, brake light on dash. Tires are low on air, left front tire not holding air for long, so there is a slow leak. Loud knocking noise from engine. No oil on dipstick. Radiator leaking. Driver's door inside handle inop, door has to be opened from the outside. Door hinges are loose and causing driver's door to sag. The fan blade is contacting the fan shroud due to bad motor mounts and the fan shroud is loose. Both upper control arm ball joints are loose. Lower shock mount bushings are banged out. Trans pan rusted and leaking, no trans fluid on dipstick. The driver seat is falling apart. Hyrail gear is damaged and inop. Service body on bed, keys for locks may be missing and/or locks inop. Service Body has rust in several areas (See pics). Unfortunately the unit was not serviced as it should have been. There is an amber strobe, ladder rack, Go light, amber directional bar light and outside speaker. Unit was heavily used daily. Rather than do any repair Metra decided to retire the vehicle. The unit does run and can be driven short distances such as on to a platform but care and safety needs to be taken due to the broken Serp belt issue. Metra recommends it be towed or trailered out.
