One William & Son branded solid gold box featuring a hand painted hoopoe bird and enameled fields behind "hand pieced" scroll pattern findings. The box has a high polish interior and "seven section" hinge. The box appears to have been a custom orders piece, and entirely made by hand. The box bears assaying marks of 750 to indicate 18K gold, some parts reveal parts to be 22k or higher. All measurements are estimated, the box measures 4.85 x 3.75 x 1.15 inches comes in a custom storage and display case. Thirty-two flush set round brilliant cut diamonds, measuring 1.10 - 2.01 x 1.01 mm (depth est.), 3.00% GTCF approximate total weight of 32 stones - 0.49ct. These diamonds are set into the heavy filigree adornments in the guard stripe bordering the lid. Thirty-two bead and bright cut set round brilliant cut diamonds, measuring 1.11 - 1.18 x 0.75mm (depth est.) 2.00% GTCF approximate total weight of 32 stones = 0.20ct. This item has been appraised.
