Features include: more than 27,500 rich-photographs and illustrations; articles contributed by more than 3,800 contributors, all experts in their field; research aids; pronunciation key; a student guide to better writing, speaking, and research skills; and a comprehensive index. Great Events from the 19th Century 1801-1900 (2007, 4 volumes) contains 667 essays that provide information about significant nineteenth-century events, arranged chronologically, with over eighty historical maps, quotations from primary source documents, lists and time lines, a glossary, and other reference aids, as well as more than five hundred illustrations.
