What's new - week of October 12, 2026

By Ben|

Hi, it's Ben with your weekly update on what's new at GovAuctions.app. Here's what I shipped this week, a couple of numbers, and the strangest thing I found up for auction.

What's new

New features

  • Improved the mobile experience to make it feel more app-like. Refreshed branding.
  • Website now remembers the visitor's ZIP between sessions
  • Made some changes so the site remains responsive during periods of high traffic
  • Did some work to make international resale estimates more accurate
  • Fixed a bug where users signing in were redirected to a blank page
  • Added a bid checklist to listings pages, so users know what to look for during an inspection
  • Added a fun "guess the price" feature and leaderboard

By the numbers

A few things I'm happy to share this week:

  • 69,229 live US listings indexed right now, refreshed daily.
  • 49,314 of them already have active bids.

Wacky listing of the week

My favorite find this week: a Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-21 Static Display Aircraft, a former Polish Air Force jet fighter, turned up on GovDeals out of UT, with bidding around $5,850. See the listing.

That's it for this week. If you have any questions or suggestions, send me a message - I read every one. Thanks for reading, and happy bidding.
