Struck 130 years ago this iconic silver dollar is a genuine piece of Gilded Age American history. What you are bidding on: One (1) 1896-O Morgan Silver Dollar — New Orleans Mint (O mint mark) Composition: 90% silver, 10% copper — 0.7734 troy ounces of pure silver Well worn circulated condition — consistent with a coin of this era Some discoloration and spotting visible on obverse — please review all photos carefully Coin has NOT been cleaned or chemically treated to our knowledge Photos shown are of the actual coin in this listing About This Coin: The Morgan Silver Dollar was designed by George T. Morgan and struck from 1878 through 1904 and again in 1921. The obverse features Lady Liberty with crown and flowing hair and the reverse a heraldic eagle with wings spread. The 1896-O was struck at the historic New Orleans Mint with a mintage of approximately 4.9 million coins. At 130 years old this is a genuine piece of American history from the height of the Gilded Age with strong silver bullion value in addition to its collector appeal.
