Morgan, was struck from 1878 to 1904, then revived for one final year in 1921 before being replaced by the Peace Dollar later that same year. The Philadelphia Mint struck 44,690,000 examples of the 1921 Morgan — the highest single-year mintage in the entire series — after resuming dollar coin production following a 17-year gap. Because of the rushed restart, 1921 Philadelphia strikes are known for a somewhat softer strike compared to earlier Morgan dates. While common and affordable due to the massive mintage, the 1921 remains historically significant as the final year of the design, and genuine 90% silver coin from this era continues to be popular with both collectors and silver stackers.
