2002 Ford Mustang

GovDealsVehicles📍Madison, GA

Moderate damage flagged

GovAuctions Summary

A 2002 Ford Mustang 4.6L V8 coupe, starts on a boost, runs and drives to 70 mph, manual transmission and clutch fine, but has a tick at idle (possible cam follower or timing chain issue). Sells to classic-car hobbyists, parts-out operations, and DIY restorers comfortable with engine teardown. Get a mechanic to confirm whether the valve-train tick is a cheap sensor or requires cam/chain replacement (cost and complexity vary widely); also note illegal tint needing removal and prior body damage.

Estimated flip margin and comp range available with Pro. Summary may occasionally contain inaccuracies; check the full description before bidding.

Full Description

2002 Ford Mustang COUPE 2-DR, 4.6L V8 SOHC 16V. Starts with a boost. Runs and Drives. Our fleet mechanic says it sounds as if it has a possible cam follower or timing chain slap issue. It has a tick while idling. I drove it about 4.5 miles last week. It got up to 70 mph with no issues. It is a manual. Clutch seems fine and it went into all the gears with no issues. Sounds like it may need some minor suspension work. Brakes work as they should. AC blows cold. It's too hot to try the heat. It looks to have originally been blue. Looks to have had some body damage in the past. Paint is poor and definitely has blemishes. The tint is illegal, needs to be removed, and is peeling off anyway. Interior is fair at best. It has broken and missing dash pieces. It has an aftermarket radio and some speakers. The rear spoiler is loose. VEHICLE IS SOLD AS IS. INSPECTIONS ARE ENCOURAGED AND BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. Inspections may be scheduled by calling Jeremy Thrash at 706-342-9564 or email at jthrash@morgancountyga.gov. Inspections may be scheduled M-F 9a-4pm. It has a clean Georgia title. It's not going to win any beauty contests but would probably make a good project car.
