RESERVE PRICE ON THIS ITEM IS $60. We have other rare Confederate bills on auction this week that came in from the estate of a gentleman from Alabama, so be sure to check out our other auctions! You are bidding on a GENUINE Confederate States, Civil War, $10 bill!!! This is the REAL DEAL, a real T-68 series bill! THIS IS NOT A REPRODUCTION BILL!! This particular bill is serial number 3314 and was issued on February 17th, 1864!!! It is in INCREDIBLE CONDITION for a bill that is over 162 YEARS OLD!!! Most Confederate designs are allegorical or architectural. This one has the war on it. The 1864 ten dollar note shows a team of horses hauling a field gun at top center, artillery on the move rather than a goddess or a statehouse, with an oval portrait of Robert M. T. Hunter, Confederate Secretary of State and later president pro tempore of the Confederate Senate, at lower left, and an ornate back engraved with the denomination in blue. In addition to all of this, this is one of the few RARE Confederate bills that had printing on the back! Most Confederate bills were printed only on one side (uniface) to save time and lower production costs during the American Civil War. The Confederate States dollar administration faced severe shortages of paper, ink, specialized machinery, and skilled engravers, forcing them to rush basic promissory notes into circulation. Lower grade circulated notes EASILY sell for $90. With that in mind, we have put a more than fair reserve of $60 on this particular bill because of it's INCREDIBLE condition. Whether you collect money, American historical items or Civil War memorabilia, here's your chance to add an incredible piece of monetary history to your collection.... and for a great GovDeals price! PLEASE NOTE: Pictures are the of exact bill you will receive. PLEASE BE SURE TO CHECK OUT OUR OTHER AUCTIONS BY CLICKING HERE! Please DO NOT wait until the last minute to schedule an inspection or to ask questions about this item or for a shipping quote. Please remember, we are liquidators.
