How sheriff sales work
A sheriff sale is a court-ordered foreclosure sale run by the county sheriff. The winning bidder usually pays a deposit on the day and the balance within a set number of days. Properties are sold as-is, generally without an interior inspection, and many sales are postponed or cancelled before the sale date, often more than once.
