2002 SPARTAN GLADIATOR FIRE TRUCK / 12.7L L6 DETROIT SERIES 60 DIESEL / ALLISON HD4060 TRANSMISSION TeleSquirt 75 ft Aerial with intact piping; Internal water tank capacity of 480 gallons. Aerial Serial Number: 05WI28 Empty weight of truck: 41,800 pounds Unit cranks, starts, runs, drives, and stops normally. Truck was driven to our location from the local fire hall and parked under it's own power. Truck was delivered to us on 9/30/26. Any items left in the truck, as seen in the pictures, will go with the truck when it leaves. We test-ran as many functions as possible to verify operating condition: hydraulics, PTO, stabilizers, aerial up/down/rotate/extend/retract, remote control function, cab lift, and idle kick all function properly at this time. Annual fire pump testing last performed in 2025. Some side-mount light fixtures are missing and/or broken, as are some interior finishings - see pictures for details. We cannot verify the operation of the air conditioning system due to low ambient temperatures, though it is likely that the system is empty of refrigerant. The Series 60 Detroit Diesel engine cranks, starts, and runs strong - no unusual noises or leaks. It started very well this morning, parked outside at 30 degree F ambient temps. Batteries are in OK condition. All 6 tires appear to be in drivable condition. Some rust-jacking is present on the triple-frame in the rear axle area, along with general rust & corrosion (road salt is used in this area in the winter; however, these trucks were washed/cleaned daily). *** The only reported concern with the unit is as follows: "If the truck is started, immediately shifted into Drive, and driven, the transmission will shift 1-5 one time and then get stuck there. At that point, if the truck is shut off and restarted, the transmission will shift normally for the rest of the day. If the truck is started and allowed to idle for 2-3 minutes before shifting into Drive, this issue will not occur at all." This issue has reportedly been present for several months now and the decision was made not to pursue a repair, since the truck was scheduled to come off the Reserve Line and be auctioned off anyway. *** Truck has a clean title. ******* THE WINNING BIDDER MUST BE PREPARED TO DRIVE OR TRANSPORT THIS ITEM PROPERLY - WE WILL NOT ASSIST WITH LOADING, LOGISTICS, HAULING, ETC. ******** We previously had a winning bidder contract with a third-party Independent Hauler to transport a full-sized fire truck across the country - he arrived with a 1-ton pickup and a 25,000 lb gooseneck trailer, which was wholly inadequate and clearly dangerous. Despite this, the hauler insisted on attempting to load the fire truck and only stopped after damaging his trailer. Do not underestimate the size and weight of this truck. The proper way to haul it would entail either a heavy-haul wrecker or a properly-sized lowboy trailer.
