Condition: FAIR This auction is for used laboratory fume vent hoods that were operated in an active laboratory environment. These units have been exposed to harsh chemicals , including but not limited to pesticides and other laboratory substances. No decontamination or chemical cleaning has been performed. Buyers should assume that chemical residues may be present. Because of this, proper safety precautions and handling procedures are strongly advised . Buyers are responsible for determining their own safety requirements and handling protocols prior to removal. Units included in this auction: Hood #031.1 (Located in Room 31) Asset ID #174169 (located in attached workspace of Room 31) Asset ID #125945 (Located in room 14) Asset ID #175051 (Located in room 39) Buyers are not required to remove or take all units included in this auction. Any units remaining after the designated removal period will remain in the building and be disposed of during demolition. Inspection & Safety Notes Inspection is strongly recommended prior to bidding so buyers can evaluate condition, contamination concerns, and removal requirements. These units are secured to building infrastructure and may require disassembly for removal. Due to the scheduled demolition of the building, surrounding surfaces do not need to be preserved; however, all work must still be performed in a safe, controlled, and professional manner to ensure structural safety and personnel safety. Inspection Details Inspections must occur during the week of 11/9 11/13. No inspections will be conducted on 11/11 in observance of Veterans Day. Inspection is strongly recommended prior to bidding. Bidders are responsible for any disassembly (if required) and all loading and removal of items. All load-out times must be scheduled with Nathan to ensure parking availability and that personnel are on site to provide access. Because the structure is slated for demolition, buyers are not required to preserve surrounding building materials during removal. However, all work must still be performed in a safe, orderly, and controlled manner . Buyers should exercise appropriate caution when detaching items that are secured to walls, floors, or other building components. Removal: Buyer must remove auction item(s) from the agency s premises within ten (10) business days after the time and date of issuance of the Notice of Award. Cannot be repaired or worked on while on property and must be removed beforehand. If the Buyer, after making payment for an item, fails to remove the item within the specified time, the agency reserves the right (1) to retain all payments; and (2) to dispose of the item through another auction or otherwise. Successful bidders are responsible for packing, loading, removing and transporting of all property awarded to them from the place where the property is located as indicated on the website and in the Notice of Award. The Buyer must make all arrangements and perform all work necessary, including packing, loading and transporting of the property. Under no circumstances will State of Montana assume responsibility for packing, loading, or transporting. Additional time for removal may be granted at the agency's discretion, but must be requested, discussed with, and agreed upon by the agency prior to the expiration of the original removal deadline. No extensions are guaranteed.
