Unless otherwise noted in the item description, all items we sell are shipped. NO LOCAL PICK UP. PLEASE BE SURE TO READ OUR INSPECTION, PAYMENT & REMOVAL SECTIONS AT THE BOTTOM OF OUR LISTING as they will answer most of your questions, particularly about shipping. RESERVE PRICE ON THIS ITEM IS $60. PLEASE NOTE.... If an item has a "BUY IT NOW" price, that price is only a few dollars more than our reserve price and we strongly suggest that you use it if you don't want to have someone outbid you or if you don't want to wait until the auction is over to get this item. You are bidding on a GENUINE 1861 Confederate States, Civil War, $20 bill!!! This is the REAL DEAL, a real T-18 series bill! THIS IS NOT A REPRODUCTION BILL!! This serial number on this particular bill 27144 and was issued on September 2nd, 1861!!! It is in INCREDIBLE CONDITION for a bill that is 165 YEARS OLD!!! The center vignette features a uniface design with vignettes of a sailor and a sailing ship, along with the text "Will pay at Richmond, VA". This bill has something extra going for it. IT HAS A MAJOR MISCUT! If you look at the top of the bill, you will see that it is cut VERY short. These bills were usually cut by hand with scissors and some minor miscuts were acceptable. However, this one is missing a considerable amount from the top and should have been a rejected bill. A great, collectible error!! In addition to all of this, this is one of the few RARE Confederate bills that had printing on the back! Most Confederate bills were printed only on one side (uniface) to save time and lower production costs during the American Civil War. The Confederate States dollar administration faced severe shortages of paper, ink, specialized machinery, and skilled engravers, forcing them to rush basic promissory notes into circulation. This bill would be considered a fine to very fine grade. Lower grade circulated notes EASILY sell for $100 with higher ones such as this bringing several hundred dollars. With that in mind, we have put a more than fair reserve of $60 on this particular bill because of it's INCREDIBLE condition. Whether you collect money, American historical items or Civil War memorabilia, here's your chance to add an incredible piece of monetary history to your collection.... and for a great GovDeals price!
